death of winter has settled in
the sickness was heavy in the air
it could be felt on the skin
wondering strangers beware

sore throat and fever is how it begins
elders and children didn't have a prayer

people went crazy filled the loony bins
too weak to fight to tired to care
there was no escaping it was everywhere
God's punishment for all their sins
